IAR Systems has launched a new version of the IAR Embedded Workbench for RISC-V toolchain with added support for custom extensions and optimisations for code execution speed.

Version 1.11’s support for custom extensions allows applications to be developed based on custom cores.

Version 1.11 of IAR Embedded Workbench for RISC-V also provides tweaks for code speed to bring higher performance for the generated code. Code quality is assured through the C-STAT tool for integrated static code analysis. C-STAT can help prove compliance with specific standards like MISRA C:2004, MISRA C++:2008 and MISRA C:2012, and also detect defects, bugs, and security vulnerabilities as defined by the Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) and a subset of CERT C/C++.
