Xilinx has introduced what it claims is the industry’s first 20 nm space-grade FPGA that provides full radiation tolerance and high throughput and bandwidth.
Xilinx has introduced what it claims is the industry’s first 20 nm space-grade FPGA that provides full radiation tolerance and high throughput and bandwidth.

The 20nm Radiation Tolerant (RT) Kintex UltraScale XQRKU060 FPGA can be reprogrammed in orbit and has a10x increase in DSP performance along with full radiation tolerance across all orbits.

The XQRKU060 has high-performance machine learning (ML) capabilities – a first for the space industry. It features a broad portfolio of ML development tools to support industry-standard frameworks, including TensorFlow and PyTorch, enables neural network inference acceleration for real-time on-board processing in space with a “process and analyze” solution. The XQRKU060 can provide 5.7 TOPs of peak INT8 performance optimized for deep learning.
